Movin' On Up

THE ADOPTION LIST!

Referrals came out today and the good news is that July 2007 expedites have apparently been matched. The regular non-special needs line is currently matched until July 6,2006.

There remains 5 months of LID's until OUR TURN (Jan'08)! If the CCCAA continues to match at their current pace we should have our referral in 18 months. Of course there is always the hope that it could speed up just a little! At this point I'll be happy with only another 18 months to go.

We are coming baby Lauren...................we are coming................

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

How does your garden grow?

The picture does not really do justice to how pretty the rock garden is this summer. I spent quite a bit of time this Spring rearranging, transplanting and dreaming of some new "additions" to the plantings. I'm really happy that it's a nice blend of perennials and annuals now. I'm hoping for colour that lasts right through until the first frost. I think it came out pretty good. What do you think?

Birthday - Part One - The Cake

It may have been a carnival theme but there was only one type of cake that would do for my penguin loving little guy. The amazing thing is that it tasted as great as it looked and Evan had a smile on his face from ear to ear. That's what this mama likes to see!!

Does anybody feel like crossing their fingers for me?

This weekend is Evan's 6th birthday and he is super super excited about it. We are having a carnival theme, complete with a clown entertainer coming in from the city to do ballon animals, magic, face painting etc. We have a 27ft bouncy castle and slide scheduled to be delivered Saturday morning, and not to forget the carnival games and cotton candy machine. I have put tonnes of effort into handmade carnival banners, game passports......heck we even have authentic carnival "stuffy" prizes (thank you UPS for delivering these from Vancouver). And not to forget the 17 kids who are pumped and ready for fun!

For those that know our home it is by no means big.....it's nice.....but it's small. Definitely not big enough to house 17 kids and a carnival!!

And why am I freaking out you may ask?

Well, it seems that the person at Environment Canada is trying to spoil my plans.............yes it's calling for rain my friends.

So I will take any finger (or toe) crossing you feel like doing......we are going to need some luck to pull this one off!!!

Either way......rain or shine (still hoping for the shine) my little guy is going to have an awesome party.

Wait till he sees the custom made "penguin" birthday cake! He is gonna go crazy!!

And for those of you that think (or know) that I'm going overboard on this one, well you are probably right. The kids have been calling me "Party Mama" all week...lol

Pictures............rain or shine............to come!

Graduation Day

First there was the hand-off..........

and then it was official................Evan has graduated kindergarten! Woohoo!!!

Evan is our third child that has celebrated his/her graduation at Springwater Provincial Park (just out of Barrie). As luck, (because that's the way I choose to see it....thank you very much Canada Post Corporation), would have it Adam was also able to join Evan and I for the day. It always feels so special when you can direct all your attention to one of your children. Especially when it's an important day for them. A picnic lunch, nature walk to view the rescued wildlife, a great play structure and a pond full of frogs. What more could a 5 year (almost 6) old guy want?

Proudly displaying his new froggie friend for mommy!

Mastering the monkey bars!! Look at that determination!!

memories................

Something just struck me the other day.

Maybe it was the way his feet almost dangled to the floor when I reached down to pick him up.

Maybe it was how surprisingly heavy he felt in my arms.

Maybe it was how I've been busily preparing for his 6th birthday

Maybe it was how I received a newsletter home about his kindergarten graduation

Maybe it was a combination of all of these things that made me realize..............

My little Evan is growing up.............

How I wish (well kinda) I could freeze his cute, innocent, chubby cheeked, dimpled little face..............

Keep him my baby forever..............

sigh...........

This Mama really needs to bring Lauren home.
