My Inner Designer............

I LOVE to design planters and this is one I made over the weekend. There are daffodills mixed in with the pussy willows and pansies that will be blooming in the next few days. I think it came out great and feels like a little bit of Spring.

If I could go back in time and choose a different path I'd probably choose landscape design. There is nothing I enjoy more than getting out into the gardens, designing planters, and cruising the aisles of the local greenhouse.

Every Spring I swear (except that I don't) that I will "control myself" when it comes to new plants, shrubs, trees etc. The problem is those darn flyers that come out in the Thursday night paper.

The colourful flowers, the new varieties of shrubs, and those great garden accessories........

I admit it....I usually fail miserably......I tell myself that I am only going to "look"..............but alas the temptation is usually too hard to resist..............and I end up with just a few new things. Luckily I have THE BEST husband who is happy to let me shop, and dig, and weed, and plant. I think that he knows that gardening for me is like therapy.......and trips to the greenhouse are cheaper than a shrink!

Hi, Gwen, This is Jaynee Lockwood :) I saw your blog comment on our blog yesterday and I commented back to you there. But I wasn't sure if you would see it there, so I thought I'd write you here too.
I just wanted to let you know I am so very sorry the Christmas Boxes you all made got returned to you all. I can only imagine how disappointed you all must have felt...especially your children. I have no idea what could have happened; I know Daniel brother/sis in law were happy to receive each box that arrived at their house and you having sent the boxes so well in advance, there should have been no problem.
We recently opened up a mail box on the USA/Mexican border (USA side). If you would like to resend the boxes there, we'll pick them up next time we are up (probably w/in the next month or two) and have no problem finding some children here who would be most excited to receive them. We could send your children pictures too of the ones who receive their boxes. We'd be more than happy to cover the shipping costs too. If you are interested, email us at daniellockwoodfamily@gmail.com and I'll give you our address/details. Again, I am so very sorry. I know the Lord knows and will bless you for your thoughtfulness in giving. love,
Jaynee
