I Wish I Could Do This..............

We attended a gymnastics demonstration this week. While we usually sit for 6 hours a week watching our little gymnast alot of the parents have more of a "drop and run" attitude. This provided a chance for the kids to show off the skills they've been working on. And I am not one to miss an opportunity to photograph Claire doing what she loves!

A Day Late

HAPPY 7TH BIRTHDAY CLAIRE-BEAR!

We had such a fun day on Saturday (her actual birthday was yesterday) celebrating with family and friends. After hosting birthday parties for the last 14 years (yes, Alec is acutally 14 now!) I was beginning to have the feeling that I've done every birthday theme imaginable. We've had reptile parties, Cinderella parties, magician parties (that one was a nightmare!), Star Wars parties with life sized Darth Vaders in attendence, and parties with giant bouncing castles and slides that consume the entire back yard. So this year I pondered my options, jumped on the internet and came up with a cooking party theme. Thanks to our local Loblaws Superstore who run a successful cooking school, the girls were thrilled to bake pizza, and make cookies together. It was a super success, with no mess to clean up at home afterwards (not that that is a criteria of mine.....I'm just saying). Later in the afternoon we hosted a "family" party at home, complete with more cake and a trip downtown to watch the local Santa Claus Parade. An action packed day to say the least!

The first day of school picture. A tradition around this house. Evan was definately diggin' the attention and totally excited about Senior Kindergarten.

Claire was totally diggin' her back to school outfit. So cute!

They even shared a moment of brother-sister love.

Guess What

Claire learned to do yesterday?

It was a bit long in coming but our baby has taken off her training wheels for the last time! She has found her freedom and is loving the wind in her hair. And me? I was a bit teary eyed to realize she is becoming such an independent (aka: not my little baby anymore) girl. Sigh....... Way to go Claire! You have learned so many new things this summer and we are so proud of you!

AND "THIS LITTLE GUY"?

Not so ready to venture without the training wheels yet.....but totally cheering his big sister on!

What I love about summer

and that beautiful face......well, what's not to love about summer.....at the Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton........................
